About the course
Leadership Foundation is the premiere summer leadership program at Oakland Mills United, designed for current high school students only. This 6 day virtual leadership intensive program will teach you important leadership skills to add to your toolbox.
This program is not only for current student leaders, but also for students who want to become student leaders and begin their leadership journey. Each day, you will be able to learn new leadership skills, participate in big group activities, collaborate with your small groups, interact with guest speakers, and apply the knowledge learned by creating and implementing a service learning project that benefits the community.
Students are expected to participate for the entire duration of the program. This is a six day program, divided up between two weeks. This program will occur from June 21 - July 2 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 1 - 5 pm. The six sessions are divided below:
Day 1: Welcome Session and Team Bonding
Day 2: Self Awareness and Group Dynamics
Day 3: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Day 4: What is Leadership? Leadership and Me
Day 5: Globalization: Think Globally and Act Locally
Day 6: Service Project and Graduation
Each day, students will be able to learn new leadership skills, participate in big group activities, collaborate with their small groups, create and work on a service learning project, and both listen to guest speakers and ask them questions.
