Job Overview

The Curriculum Design Officer is responsible for developing all organizational curriculum not limited to program content and participant handouts for our Leadership in Action, Road to College, and other programs as necessary. The Curriculum Design Officer will work with teachers and outside groups to develop and evaluate all organizational curriculum for our programming. The Curriculum Design Officer will work closely with the Learning and Development Director to ensure that all curriculum and handouts are in line for student participation and teaching. 

 

Reports To

The Curriculum Design Officer will report to the Chief Program Officer 

 

Time Commitment

This role requires between 2-15 hours per MONTH

 

Preferred/Required Experiences 

  • Must be in high school or above

  • Previous experience through student clubs/organizations preferred 

  • Interest in education and teaching is a plus 

  • Ability to work with educators and groups is required 

  • Strong writing ability 

 

Core Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct needs assessments to identify educational gaps and requirements.

  • Design and develop engaging curriculum materials, including lesson plans, activities, assessments, and instructional resources

  • Work with teacher and outside groups to determine curriculum, programming, and instructional material needs 

  • Ensure the curriculum aligns with the organization's mission, educational standards, and target audience's needs.

  • Some teaching of program material may occur, but this is not required for this position 

  • Create and modify educational content to enhance learning outcomes and adapt to changing needs.

  • Engage in ongoing communication and consultation with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the curriculum meets their needs.

  • Manage multiple curriculum design projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate the development and implementation of curriculum materials.

  • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and report on outcomes to senior management.

  • Work with the Learning and Development Director to ensure that curriculum can be transferred over to teaching and learning
