Job Overview
The Program Officer facilitates managerial processes and serves as an administrative coordinator for all the programs within the organization's initiatives. The Program Officer will assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of our organization's programs, along with recruiting and training volunteers. Occasionally, the Program Officer will lead organizational programming for students in our Leadership in Action initiative.
Reports To
The Program Officer will report to the Chief Program Officer
Time Commitment
This role requires between 2-10 hours per MONTH
Preferred/Required Experiences

Must be in high school or above

Previous experience through student clubs/organizations preferred
Core Responsibilities and Duties

Will be delegated to oversee and maintain organizational initiatives and programs

Conducts site visits, interview meetings, and train volunteers

Assist in planning and running events

Stay up to date on the programs and services impacting the OM community

Identify opportunities for new program development and expansion

Assist with the development of strategic partnerships

Assist with the strategic development of the organization

Help develop new curriculum and programs for the organization

Determine the budget needed and identify any sources of potential funding

Conduct research to identify community needs and develop strategies to address them.

Create program materials such as flyers, brochures, and program guides.

Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and program participants.

Monitor program progress and evaluate outcomes to ensure goals are met.

Assist in preparing reports on program outcomes and impact

The living legacy of the OMHS Class of 2020, OMU strives to create a more equitable community for all. Our initiatives of student leadership, student enrichment, college preparation, and community advocacy create opportunities to support all students in Oakland Mills and Howard County.
